    Point Framework in Pathways:

Add a point system to stackable badges. Against each each badge, points can be awarded.
Context: Not all badges are equal. Some badges carry more weightage due to difference in dose, duration, depth, skill, among others.

Add a numerical field against each badge. Call it points.

    How Points Are Assigned

Drawing on research around education, gamification, social capital, including Raj Chetty’s and Julie Freeland Fisher’s social capital research, we narrowed in on the following factors.

    • Dose & Duration: How long or how intensive was the experience? A one-hour site visit earns fewer points than a multi-week project.

    • Depth & Complexity: How challenging was the activity? Depth of Knowledge? Did it require problem-solving, collaboration, or leadership? Can a learner passive participate or must they actively participate?

    • Progress Toward Competency: Does the experience contribute to a verified skill, or credential? Points increase when a learner demonstrates mastery or completes a milestone such as a ‘credential of value’ of an industry recognized experience.

    • Access to Social capital (or social capital brokerage): Experiences that expand social capital, such as networking with professionals or mentoring, carry higher points because of their long-term impact.

If Pathways is implementable, Wauld would become world class alternative to Credly or Badger.

Hi Jagan, thank you so much your feedback. Within the first half of 2026, we do plan to release this as a part of our offering.

It’d be incredibly helpful if you could share additional information on how you envision the use of Pathways. That way we can ensure we build things out based on what customer needs are.
