The Workspace Metrics in Wauld offer a real-time snapshot of how your issued credentials are performing. These metrics are visible right on your Dashboard when you open a workspace, helping you track recipient engagement, sharing behavior, and the broader visibility of your credentials.

Understanding these metrics enables you to:

  • Measure the reach and impact of your credentials

  • Identify opportunities for engagement improvement

  • Showcase the effectiveness of digital credentialing to stakeholders

This article breaks down each metric so you can get the most out of your workspace analytics.

  • Credentials Issued

    • What it means: This number reflects the total credentials issued under your workspace. It includes all credentials, whether they’re active, expired, or voided. It’s the base number against which most other metrics are calculated.

    • Why it matters: It tells you the scale of credentialing activities and serves as the foundation for calculating engagement rates.

    • Formula: Credentials Issued = Total number of credentials issued in the workspace

  • Open Rate

    • What it means: Open Rate tells you how many issued credentials were actually opened by recipients at least once. This metric is a strong indicator of recipient engagement and the initial success of your credential outreach.

    • Why it matters:A low open rate could suggest that:

      • Recipients didn’t notice or trust the email

      • The credential wasn't relevant or compelling

    • Formula: Open Rate (%) = (Total number of credentials opened at least once × 100) ÷ Total number of credentials issued

  • Share Rate

    • What it means: Share Rate indicates the proportion of opened credentials that were then shared - either by:

      • Copying the credential link

      • Sending it via email to third parties

      • Sharing through LinkedIn
It tells you how valuable or “share-worthy” recipients find their credentials.

    • Why it matters: High share rates usually reflect:

      • Strong recipient satisfaction

      • Recognition of the credential’s value in job applications, portfolios, or social sharing

    • Formula: Share Rate (%) = (Number of credentials shared at least once × 100) ÷ Number of credentials opened

  • Views per Share

    • What it means: This metric shows the average number of views each shared credential gets. It measures how many people; employers, peers, or institutions; are viewing credentials after they’re shared by recipients.

    • Why it matters: It’s a great indicator of:

      • The reach of your credentials beyond direct recipients

      • How compelling the credential is when shared

    • Formula: Views per Share = Total views on shared credentials ÷ (Copy link clicks + Email shares)

  • Clicks

    • What it means: This is the total number of times users (recipients or third-party viewers) clicked on your organization’s website link from the credential detail page.

    • Why it matters: It reflects how much traffic and interest your credentials generate for your organization’s brand, services, or learning programs.

    • Formula: Clicks = Total clicks on issuing authority’s website from credential detail views.

Tips for Interpreting Metrics Effectively

  • Monitor Share Rate alongside Clicks to see if shared credentials are driving meaningful traffic.

  • Use low Open or Share Rates as signals for optimization; perhaps improve credential design, delivery emails, or guidance on how to share.
