Your privacy is at the heart of Wauld. The Privacy Centre is where you take control of how your information is collected, used, and shared. Instead of hidden policies or hard-to-find settings, Wauld gives you a clear and accessible dashboard where you can review your preferences, adjust them at any time, and ensure your account reflects your comfort level with how Wauld handles your data.

By customizing your Privacy Centre settings, you decide:

  • How Wauld communicates with you.

  • Whether your usage data is collected to improve and personalize your experience.

  • How your information is used in advertising or shared with third parties.

  • Which region-specific privacy rights (like GDPR) apply to your account.

Accessing the Privacy Centre

  1. Click your Profile icon at the bottom of the side navigation bar.

  2. In the small popup, select Privacy Centre.

  3. A modal titled Privacy Centre opens, showing your current privacy settings.

The modal is divided into:

  • Your Region

  • Communication, Personalization & Advertising Preferences

  • Data Sharing Preferences

  • Privacy Documents

  • Privacy Request Form

Each section is explained in detail below.

Your Region

This setting defines which regional privacy rules Wauld applies to your account.

  • Location Dropdown – The dropdown shows your location. By default, this is set based on what you selected during onboarding.

  • Why it matters – Selecting a GDPR country activates stricter controls automatically. Wauld sets your account with a GDPR-region tag = true, ensuring GDPR rights and defaults apply. Non-GDPR countries default to a global standard with broader opt-in options.

  • Customizing – You can update this dropdown at any time if you relocate or want to change which regional privacy framework governs your account.

Communication, Personalization & Advertising Preferences

This section lets you choose how Wauld communicates with you and whether your experience is tailored. Each option can be checked or unchecked at any time.

  1. Help improve Wauld

    • By enabling this, you allow Wauld to collect anonymized usage data.

    • This helps us understand how the platform is used, refine features, and personalize your in-app experience.

    • You can turn this off if you prefer no data collection beyond what’s necessary to run the platform.

  2. Get updates & offers

    • When checked, you receive occasional emails about new features, system improvements, and relevant offers.

    • If unchecked, you’ll still receive essential system emails (e.g., password reset, billing notices), but no promotional updates.

  3. Support relevant advertising

    • This lets Wauld use your in-app activity to build ad audiences.

    • These audiences are used to display relevant ads to you on external platforms.

    • When unchecked, your Wauld activity will not be used for external ad targeting.

Defaults:

  • GDPR regions:

    • “Help improve Wauld” and “Get updates & offers” follow your onboarding choices.

    • “Support relevant advertising” is always unchecked by default.

  • Non-GDPR regions:

    • All three are checked by default, giving you a more personalized and connected experience unless you opt out.

Data Sharing Preferences

This section is about limiting how your data is shared outside Wauld. These settings are stricter and usually linked to compliance frameworks.

  1. Do not sell or share my personal information

    • When enabled, Wauld blocks any third-party use of your personal data for indirect purposes, like targeted advertising or external insights.

  2. Limit use of my sensitive information

    • Sensitive information includes data like location, emails.

    • When checked, Wauld restricts use of this data to only what is absolutely necessary for the platform to function.

Defaults:

  • For both GDPR and non-GDPR regions, these boxes are unchecked by default, meaning you must actively choose to limit data use.

Global Privacy Control (GPC)

Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a browser- or extension-based signal that communicates your privacy preferences automatically when you browse the web. When enabled, GPC tells websites and platforms that you do not want your personal data to be sold or shared.

Wauld fully respects the GPC signal. If your browser sends this signal, Wauld automatically:

  • Honors your request not to sell or share your personal data by checking the relevant Data Sharing Preferences in your Privacy Centre.

  • Disables personalization and advertising settings by default to minimize unnecessary data usage.

This means you don’t need to manually opt out if your browser is already configured to send GPC.

Even so, Wauld believes in choice and transparency:

  • You can still adjust any of your preferences directly in the Privacy Centre, even if GPC is active.

  • Your selections always take priority.

Privacy Documents

In the Privacy Centre, you’ll find direct links to:

  • Privacy Policy

  • Terms of Use

  • Data Processing Addendum

If any of these documents are updated:

  • A blue badge appears in the Privacy Centre next to the updated document.

  • The badge also shows on the Privacy Centre menu itself.

  • The badge disappears once you click the updated document link or after 30 days, whichever is sooner.

This ensures you’re always aware of important changes.

Privacy Request Form

In addition to customizing your privacy preferences, Wauld gives you direct access to the Privacy Request Form a secure way to exercise your data rights.

From the Privacy Centre, you can open the Privacy Request Form to:

  • Access or export your data → Get a copy of your personal data in a portable format.

  • Correct your data → Fix inaccurate or outdated details.

  • Delete your account or data → Request permanent removal of your information (“Right to be Forgotten”).

  • Raise other privacy concerns → Submit any request that doesn’t fit into the above categories.

When you submit a request, Wauld generates a Request ID for tracking. You’ll also receive a confirmation email with this ID and a copy of your submission. Our support team will review and respond to your request within the timelines required by applicable privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

By including the Privacy Request Form in the Privacy Centre, Wauld ensures that you’re always in control of your data; whether it’s accessing, correcting, deleting, or simply asking questions about how your information is used.

Saving and Cancelling Changes

  • Save Changes

    • This button activates only if you’ve modified at least one setting.

    • Clicking it applies your new preferences instantly to your account.

  • Cancel

    • Discards any unsaved changes and closes the modal.

    • Your prior preferences remain active.

By using the Privacy Centre, you’re in control of every detail: region rules, communication preferences, advertising choices, and data-sharing restrictions. Whether you’re in a GDPR country or not, Wauld makes it simple to protect your privacy and stay compliant with global standards.
